Development of a Technology for Creating an Anticancer Vaccine Based on G4-DNA Aptamers Targeting PARP1 in Patients with BRCA-Positive Ovarian Cancer in Uzbekistan

The project is driven by the need to improve the effectiveness of treatment for malignant neoplasms, particularly ovarian cancer, in patients in the Republic of Uzbekistan. Despite the implementation of modern treatment methods in developed countries and the Russian Federation, ovarian cancer continues to rank among the leading causes of mortality associated with oncological diseases in women. In the Republic of Uzbekistan, this indicator ranks fifth after breast cancer.

The limited treatment options for advanced stages of cancer using surgical methods, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and hormonal therapy make the search for and development of new treatment approaches aimed at improving patient survival an urgent task.

The development of molecular therapy approaches, including direct antitumor DNA vaccination, holds significant promise for the treatment of ovarian cancer. A key focus is the design of DNA aptamers with personalized, tumor-targeted activity. Potential targets for DNA aptamers include oncogenes, proteins, as well as enzymes involved in DNA repair, particularly topoisomerase I/II and PARP1/2 enzymes, especially in ovarian cancer tumors harboring BRCA gene mutations.

The subsequent objectives of the project are to improve the effectiveness of these approaches, make them more accessible and convenient for oncology patients, and facilitate their integration into routine medical practice.
